Studies in English Education and Applied Linguistics (SEEAL) is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal committed to promoting original and high-quality research that enhances academic understanding of the English language and applied linguistics across diverse global contexts. The journal provides an international forum for scholarly exploration of English as a structured linguistic system, a dynamic medium for literary and cultural expression, an essential tool in translation and multilingual communication, and a key focus in teaching, learning, and language policy.

SEEAL invites contributions that are theoretically grounded, empirically supported, and methodologically rigorous, encouraging critical engagement with the English language from a range of disciplinary perspectives. Although interdisciplinary approaches are welcomed, all submissions must retain a clear and consistent emphasis on the English language.

SEEAL scope encompasses the following core areas:

  • English Education: Language Teaching Methodology, Communicative Language Teaching (CLT), Task-Based Language Teaching (TBLT), Project Based Learning (PBL), Blended Learning, Second Language Acquisition (SLA), English for Specific Purposes (ESP), Language Assessment and Evaluation, Educational Technology in ELT, Sociolinguistics and Language in Context, Discourse Analysis and Pragmatics, and Teaching Professional Development.

  • English Literature: Literary Theory, Critical Methodologies, Character and Theme Analysis, Stylistics, Comparative Literature, Literature in Education, engaging with theoretical, cultural, historical, or global dimensions.
  • Translation Studies: Translation Theory, Translation Technique and Strategies, Translation Process, Audiovisual Translation, Literary Translation, and Specialized Translation.
